We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading company in the data centre industry, for an experienced Critical Facility Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical infrastructure in their Frankfurt facility. This role is essential in ensuring uptime, efficiency, and compliance within a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of critical facility infrastructure, including power, cooling, and security systems.
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and service providers, ensuring high performance and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Monitor critical systems (UPS, generators, HVAC, fire suppression, BMS, and electrical distribution), ensuring optimal performance and rapid issue resolution.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct risk assessments, root cause analyses, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with operations, security, and project teams to support infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, ensuring clear communication with senior management.
  • Drive energy efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement programs to optimise facility performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree or technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Facilities Engineering.
  • Proven experience in critical facility management, ideally within data centres, industrial sites, or high-reliability environments.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, backup power systems, cooling technologies, and building management systems (BMS).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (Uptime Institute, ISO, ASHRAE, German safety regulations, etc.).
  • Ability to lead technical teams and manage complex operations in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in CMMS, BMS, and monitoring tools.
  • Fluent in German and English.
