Our client is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join a team working on cutting-edge and novel AI hardware. The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with team members to design and develop digital modules from concept to tape-out or FPGA release. This position is part of the Hardware Development group and requires expertise in developing microarchitectures, implementing RTL designs, verifying functionality, and supporting the product lifecycle through completion.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product requirements, gather relevant information, and develop viable design solutions.
  • Design digital functional modules using RTL language.
  • Program, debug, and build FPGA prototypes for system verification.
  • Utilize simulation tools to validate designs at both RTL and gate levels.
  • Collaborate with team members to define verification methodologies and test plans.
  • Document design specifications and processes clearly and concisely.

Education & Experience:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital logic design.
  • Strong understanding of modern computational architectures.
  • Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with CPU and SRAM-based SoC components and system buses (AXI, AHB, APB) is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of standard SoC interfaces (SPI, I2C, etc.) and high-speed IO protocols (PCIe, USB, DDR) is a plus.
  • Experience with Python and shell scripting is beneficial.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience with VCS/Verdi or similar toolsets.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, policies, contracts, and instruction manuals.
  • Competence in composing reports and correspondence.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Advanced analytical skills to evaluate technical data, identify issues, and develop logical solutions.
  • Ability to interpret complex information from various qualitative and quantitative sources to formulate objective conclusions.
  • Capability to execute written and oral instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
  • Decision-making ability to ensure efficient and timely project execution.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, arithmetic, and vector mathematics.
