Our client is a leading provider of electromechanical solutions for the automotive industry, specializing in the design and manufacturing of precision components that enhance vehicle performance, reliability, and efficiency. Their innovative technologies support major automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in powertrain, chassis, and advanced mobility solutions.

To strengthen their technical collaboration with key customers, they are seeking a Resident Engineer based in Michigan, USA. This role will act as the primary technical liaison between the company and its automotive customers, ensuring seamless product integration, issue resolution, and engineering support throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site technical representative, providing direct support to automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Assist in the integration, validation, and troubleshooting of electromechanical components within vehicle systems.
  • Work closely with customer engineering teams, providing technical guidance on design, specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Facilitate communication between internal engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Support prototype builds, validation testing, and field issue resolution, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
  • Monitor and report on customer requirements, design changes, and project milestones, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in automotive product development, particularly in electromechanical systems, mechatronics, or precision components.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive engineering standards, validation processes, and manufacturing practices.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving, root cause analysis, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently on-site while maintaining close coordination with remote engineering teams.
