Our client is a leading provider of custom ASIC solutions, offering advanced semiconductor technologies to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) as well as larger enterprises that do not have in-house IC manufacturing capabilities. They support clients throughout the prototyping and production lifecycle, ensuring access to cutting-edge chip fabrication technologies.
As part of their expansion in North America, they are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive market growth, build strategic partnerships, and support customers in navigating turnkey ASIC development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a customer portfolio in the turnkey ASIC market, identifying opportunities for growth.
- Gather, assess, and maximize leads for custom ASIC projects, aligning with market strategy.
- Leverage expertise in CMOS and advanced chip technologies to advise customers on optimal solutions, working closely with semiconductor foundries and internal technical teams.
- Prepare and negotiate customer quotations and contracts, ensuring smooth project execution from prototype to volume production.
- Oversee the forecasting, production planning, and delivery schedules, ensuring seamless coordination between customers and manufacturing partners.
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams, chip foundries, and customers, ensuring smooth execution of projects.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management on business direction and opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events, engaging with design houses, universities, semiconductor manufacturers, and potential customers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- At least five years of experience in sales or business development within the fabless semiconductor industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of ASIC design and fabrication techniques (CMOS), including packaging and testing processes.
- Ability to stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the semiconductor market.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate challenges, prioritize tasks, and act proactively.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the US (30%+) and internationally, including visits to company headquarters in Europe.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), with the ability to engage customers on technical, legal, and business-related matters.
- A strong professional network in the semiconductor ecosystem is highly desirable.
- Adaptable team player with a collaborative mindset and problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to embrace change and continuously develop new skills.
