We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading company in the data centre industry, for an experienced Facility Shift Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure within their French facilities. This role is key in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of a mission-critical environment, operating on a shift-based schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage facility operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all systems function efficiently and reliably.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of on-site technicians, engineers, and contractors to maintain critical infrastructure.
- Monitor and respond to facility alarms, faults, and incidents, taking corrective action to minimise downtime.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems.
- Work closely with the facility management team to implement operational improvements and best practices.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and maintenance records.
- Support emergency response procedures, ensuring quick and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Train and develop shift personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in data centre facility management, critical infrastructure, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in mission-critical environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical faults under time-sensitive conditions.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate technical teams.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (Uptime Institute, ISO, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Proficiency in facility monitoring tools and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work on a shift-based schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Fluent in French and English.
