As an Electrical Engineer in the Global Facilities Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality engineering services for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of your specialized area. In this capacity, you will support Facilities Teams and Manufacturing sites worldwide, serving as the Technical Authority throughout all phases, with a strong emphasis on Global Standardization, Innovation, Reliability, Performance, and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Serve as the Technical Field Authority, offering consultation and support to Global, Regional, and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including Technology Development, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Develop, review, and maintain global standards, specifications, and Best Known Methods (BKMs) for systems, equipment, and components.
  • Ensure standardization and alignment across the global network for engineering and design concepts, project execution, reliability programs, and operations practices.
  • Analyze system designs to identify improvements for enhanced performance, efficiency, reduced maintenance, and cost savings.
  • Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies.
  • Benchmark internally and externally on engineering best practices and methods for facilities and systems.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technological advances, design innovations, and sustainability in your field.

Design and Construction Project Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Assist global, regional, and site teams in the engineering and design development for large-scale facilities infrastructure expansion projects.
  • Develop, review, and maintain global design and construction standards and specifications, focusing on engineering design and construction for your systems.
  • Create system design concepts for deployment in design and construction projects.
  • Ensure effective communication with Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct timely reviews of design packages, providing documented feedback as needed.
  • Support the development of cost and schedule estimates and provide justifications for approvals.
  • Oversee and coordinate consultant resources as required.
  • Ensure project scope meets customer and requester needs, and that change management procedures are followed.
  • Supervise progress and provide support during construction when necessary.
  • Verify that designs comply with all relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Review capacity planning databases and system operating trends, validating utilization and diversity factor assumptions.
  • Participate in or lead capacity and scenario planning, evaluating system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes.
  • Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for infrastructure additions or modifications.

Global Initiatives Program Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Develop, review, and maintain global Best Known Methods (BKM) documents, emphasizing Operations and Maintenance Reliability and Performance.
  • Lead and manage global facilities programs and initiatives, defining program objectives, roadmaps, and high-level implementation plans.
  • Lead global sustainability programs focusing on emissions, energy, water, wastewater, and green infrastructure design pillars, supporting corporate sustainability goals.
  • Collect and consolidate lessons learned and feedback from global, regional, and site teams to incorporate into global standards and BKMs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 4 to 10 years of experience in the semiconductor and/or facilities-related industry.
  • Technical expertise in facilities and semiconductor electrical systems, including High, Medium, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems, Critical and Emergency Electrical Backup Systems, Sag Mitigation Systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Variable Frequency Drives, Lighting, and Electrical Distribution Systems.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good organizational skills and a service-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems.
  • Ability to travel internationally 25-40% of the time on average, with potential peaks of 50-66% during critical project phases or site activities.
