Senior/Staff Field Applications Engineer
Location: Houston, Texas
Job Summary:
• This position provides technical support for customer products, primarily in computing and AI.
• The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) identifies and shares current and emerging customer technical needs to improve product positioning.
• This role requires on-site lab support and testing 4-5 days/week.
Essential Functions:
• Provide technical support for customer-related products, primarily in computing and AI.
• Conduct product presentations and training sessions for customers.
• Serve as a technical interface to customers; analyze their issues, diagnose them, and solve regular application problems.
• Communicate with Application Engineers and Marketing to relay customer issues and information for prompt resolution.
• Provide insights including, but not limited to, market trends, competitive analysis, and new product definition to the Marketing Manager.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in power electronics (DC/DC or AC/DC) or a related industry; experience in a Power IC vendor as an AE or FAE is a plus. Technicians with strong lab testing and debug skills will also be considered.
• Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, load slammers, function generators, and testing tools) and proper measurement techniques.
• Experience in Intel/AMD/NVIDIA CPU core power testing is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with AI or Server DC/DC Power is a plus.
• Experience with multiphase controllers, power stages, DC/DC Buck Converters, and EFUSE is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of power electronics.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills (both written and spoken).
• Self-motivated.
Education:
• BS or higher in Electronic Engineering, or a 2-year Engineering Technical Degree.
